It is an important event in the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) history within the United States and worldwide. The vibrant rainbow flag was born. It was first flown in the San Francisco Gay Freedom parade on June 25, 1974. The flag represents taking action and each color has a specific meaning; red is life, orange is healing, yellow is sunlight, green is nature, indigo is harmony and violet is spirit.
