The Garden and The Chamber, in Columbus, Ohio’s Short North District, are celebrating 21 years in business and announcing ownership changes for 2018. Opened in 1997 by Tom and Shawn Smith, the store grew to include three specialized boutiques and has been a destination for lovers of adult fun of all kinds. Their daughter, Lacey Thompson, former co-owner and General Manager, has taken the helm of the lingerie boutique, toy superstore, and kink destination. The now-exclusively-female-owned and -operated store has a focus on body positivity, LGBTQIA+ inclusivity, and education.
“We pride ourselves on our employees’ extensive knowledge and top-notch customer service,” said Thompson, a 15-year veteran of the industry. “We welcome every person that walks through our door. It’s so much fun to walk them through their shopping experience and get them exactly what they were looking for!”
The Garden’s leadership staff is gearing up to “really polish the gem we have. It’s long been Columbus’ destination for adult fun and fashion; we are working hard to bring it into 2018 with style and class,” said new General Manager Rin Musick, who has been with the store three years. “Get ready to see an updated and more modern social media presence, a more streamlined and cohesive fashion selection, and a Grand Re-Opening Party this summer!”
