Svakom Joins Drop in the Bucket to Make Water Accessible

LOS ANGELES—Adult products manufacturer Svakom has agreed to donate the proceeds of 10 percent of its sales from Aug. 20 to 30 to Drop in the Bucket, a nonprofit organization that helps provide water to needy communities in Africa.

In its donation announcement, Svakom noted that most people don't realize that two million lives a year would be saved if they were provided access to clean drinking water.

"For Svakom, donating to Drop is a tremendous honour and the money is well spent. Drop [brings] life-saving water to communities and schools in Uganda and South Sudan as well as creating the opportunity for education to enable children, especially girls, to receive an education and realize their full potential," the company said in a statement. "Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and every school should have access to clean water and improved sanitation facilities in order to create an environment that is conducive to learning. It’s something that fits really well with Svakom’s concept of social responsibility."

Since its inception in 2006, Drop in the Bucket has constructed or rehabilitated more than 350 school water points in Uganda and South Sudan, providing clean water for thousands of young students and teachers.

Svakom is known for its bestselling vibrators, bullets, prostate massagers, lubricants and other products made of eco-friendly materials that help protect the environment.
