“People seem to not want to talk about sex and its importance, especially when it involves someone with a disability. As a person with a spinal cord injury, I know what it’s like to feel that you’ve lost your womanhood, sexual identity and any confidence associated with your body. I was lucky to be with someone who was in this relationship for the long haul so it’s been comfortable and easy to explore sexually with him,” Chapman said. “Not everyone has that right now, but you can still appreciate your body and explore. I’m a huge sexuality and disability advocate and I’m not afraid to get down and dirty with the details to help people in my situation either rediscover their sexuality or to enhance the experience with their partner.
