NEW YORK—Romantic Depot, a local retail institution in the New York and tri-state area, showed up en masse to support LGBTQ+ community members at the 2023 NYC Pride March on Sunday, June 25.
More than 150 associates from Romantic Depot's eight New York retail stores advocated for LGBTQ+ rights, inclusivity, equality, and sex-positive culture alongside an estimated two million NYC Pride attendees. The retailer partnered with up-and-coming dembow hip-hop artist GeezLy, and TV personality Donna Marie Lombardi from VH1's Black Ink Crew.
Romantic Depot CEO Glen Buzzetti said, "As a company, we are committed to continuous learning, growth, and creating safe spaces where our customers and staff know that they are seen, welcome, and respected."
During the celebration, Romantic Depot retail associates marched and chanted in unison with a lively and energetic crowd. Staff members handed out VIP Pride customer cards and complimentary swag from the Romantic Depot party truck float. The gesture provided an opportunity for NYC Pride attendees to enjoy exclusive gifts and in-store incentives at Romantic Depot retail locations.
Buzzetti added, "Attending NYC Pride as a group enabled us to extend our collective allyship for the LGBTQ+ community beyond the retail store environment. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness and acceptance, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity."
In March, Romantic Depot celebrated the opening of its second Brooklyn store, located at 1974 Flatbush Avenue. Additional Romantic Depot brick-and-mortar locations can be found in the Bronx, Brooklyn (Fulton Street), Elmsford, Manhattan, Queens, West Nyack, and Yonkers.
