PEARL, MS—As some states are easing their COVID-19 travel and business restrictions, Mississippi adult retailer Romantic Adventures is slowly re-entering the workforce as some "non-essential" brick & mortar stores have introduced curbside service amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have chosen to take a cautious approach to re-opening, because the nature of our items is so personal that we want to limit their exposure to the public,” said the store’s owner Tami Rose.
“We have to control how many items are sold, as the majority of our vendors have not reopened yet… It’s a delicate balance of keeping customers happy and stretching things out until we can be re-supplied.”
As for safety precautions, Rose and her staff are obsessively disinfecting common surfaces such as keyboards, phones and cash registers. “We have also secured a UV light that sanitizes the cash before putting it in the drawer, as well as any items that have been handled by the public but not purchased.”
Rose adds that sales associates have stayed healthy and “have a pretty good attitude about all the running around outside… Hopefully, we will buy ourselves a few weeks to catch up to the rest of the world and get used to our new post-COVID reality.
“Some things never go out of style and my products are definitely in that category,” Rose continued. “The adult industry has solved many challenges related to the distribution of our products over the years, and this is just one more adjustment. Pleasure is good for the soul, and we are in it for the long haul.”
