CYBERSPACE—Bustle, an online publication by and for women, recently listed its “8 Sex Toys Invented By Women Specifically For Female Pleasure,” and a number of leading products made the cut.
Though the title implies products created for cisgendered women, the description of Berman Innovations’ POPDildo in the article mentions its appeal to the trans and gender-nonconforming communities, in addition to same-sex couples and those with disabilities.
“While the history of sex toys is pretty well known, specific inventors aren’t always made famous through their creations,” writes Bustle contributor Maria Cassano. “Recently, though…women inventors have been coming out of the woodwork with their innovative sex toys and vibrators.”
A unique aspect of POPDildo’s inclusion in Bustle’s list is how it is the only sex toy not available on Amazon; all other items on Cassano’s list specifically have Amazon links in their descriptions.
“I firstly want to thank Bustle for the mention and for including POP on this list of fantastic toys for women by women!” said Berman Innovations CEO Stephanie Berman. “I often forget how many sex toys are sold on Amazon, and to be the only manufacturer on this list who is not - it is a testament to how hard I have worked to maintain my MAP policy. I learned early on in this industry how quickly toys will end up being sold by third-party retailers, and it was important to me to maintain control, not only over my pricing, but my product as a whole.”
Also making the list are the Eva from Dame Products, the Vibratex Mystic Wand, the Tantus Slow Drive and the Tiered Silver Bullet from CalExotics.
