WASSERBILLIG, Luxembourg—Personal lubricant manufacturer pjur has received the EAN Erotix Award for Brand Development of the Year at eroFame earlier this month in recognition of its effort to rebrand.
“We’re very pleased to receive this award, as it shows us that we’ve been on the right track with all the work we’ve done over the past two years to sharpen up the core brand message, values, and aesthetic, as well as our future brand communication”, said Alexander Giebel, CEO and founder of pjur.
Yellow and black are the colors traditionally associated with pjur—but since the branding refresh, the company has acquired a new logo, a new claim, new imagery, and new colors. "The new logo retains the familiar yellow dot, but has been updated for a more modern and relevant look," the company said.
pjur’s “Feel the Real” slogan aims to encapsulate the new values that pjur now wants to convey: self-determination and self-fulfillment. “The new color gradients of the fluid shapes in purple, blue, turquoise, yellow, and red complete the established pjur color spectrum and give the brand a fresh new aesthetic. The new shapes are a visual representation of diversity and openness, fascination, lightness, and limitless dreams,” the company said in a statement.
Meanwhile, pjur Aqua was rated “very good” in the October issue of the German magazine Öko-Test, a consumer publication that tests and grades products based on a variety of criteria. pjur Aqua is a water-based personal lubricant. Materials state that "the water in the product is completely absorbed by the skin, providing particularly soft, long-lasting care. It is suitable for use with condoms and sex toys."
“At pjur, we don’t compromise on product quality or safety. As a creator of premium ‘Made in Germany’ intimate products,” Giebel said, “pjur has over 27 years of experience in the production of intimate products and campaigns for greater transparency and higher standards of quality and safety across the industry. The Öko-Test rating recognizes all the hard work we’ve put in.”
