WASSERBILLIG, Luxemburg—pjur group was one of the surprises gifted to those who walked the red carpet at the 23rd annual Cologne AIDS Gala at the Maritum Hotel recently.
The event raised 204,000 Euros to benefit Aidshilfe Köln.
"I love pjur, that's a cool PR campaign," "One can always use a good lubricant" or "With a start like this, the evening must be good" were some of the reactions from the guests as they received their yellow goodie bags conatining lubricant samples and condoms. Among the celebrity attendees was drag queen Tatjana Taft was particularly enthusiastic, garnering a lot of attention with her gigantic mane and extravagant mermaid costume. The singer and cabaret artist Kay Ray, actor Jo Weil, an entire delegation from the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) Cologne and the two moderators Katty Salié and Nina Fiva Sonnenberg were also on hand and received the samples.
"We can be thoroughly satisfied the evening was a complete success for pjur and the Cologne AIDS Gala," says Elisabeth Dahmen, public relations coordinator for the pjur group. "We at pjur support these types events with a special zeal, since the topic is personal to us and we are particularly concerned with the battle against AIDS. Therefore we are glad our presence was received so well."
pjur has supported the Aidshilfe in Cologne at different events for many years, and participates in diverse international actions and projects for AIDS prevention and against discrimination of persons infected with HIV.
