LOS ANGELES—James Guo, founder of Our Erotic Journey (OEJ Novelty), has been featured in an interview with Wired Magazine, titled "The Toymaker Who Wants to Be the Next Willy Wonka of Sex Tech."

In the feature, Guo shared insights on his unique approach to cutting-edge technology, including OEJ’s product line, quality standards, and intentional designs. Amid a wave of AI and robotics trends, Guo’s philosophy remains straightforward: create quality toys that make human connection the priority.

The company's latest launch, the True Sensation app-controlled dildo, showcased this vision with its three vibration frequencies, seven thrusting speeds, and self-heating up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, along with an app feature that syncs vibrations to music. He also mentioned that OEJ plans to introduce a Zodiac-themed collection that appeals to Gen Z's astrological interests, with toys customized for each sign.
 
Drawing from his family’s experience in manufacturing, he noted the importance of production integrity in sex tech. His caution extended to OEJ’s approach to manufacturing, relying on trusted white-label partners to ensure consistently high standards for every product.
 
"Users expect and deserve products that meet stringent safety standards, and any deviation can damage a brand’s reputation irrevocably," Gua said.
 
Despite the growing popularity of AI-driven sex tech, Guo is cautious about diving into "AI sex robots," which he described as a "low-volume business" that’s often financially out of reach for most consumers. Instead, he believes in expanding OEJ’s themed collections to reach a broader audience. "It’s time we gave [our bestsellers] a sister or brother," said Guo, hinting at more innovations to come in the brand’s lineup.
