LOS ANGELES—Pleasure products manufacturers Le Wand and b-Vibe have signed on as Pleasure Sponsors of the upcoming SEX+ Summit, scheduled for Oct. 2-4, 2020, which wil take place virtually online. With a focus on the intersection of sexuality, sensuality and healing, the SEX+ Summit will host a series of free Pleasure Workshops taught by some of the most sought-after sexperts in the adult industry.
Hosted by Anne Hodder-Shipp and Sarah Tomchesson, two experienced sex educators and cultural event producers, the SEX+ Summit allows attendees to explore the wellness world’s most current offerings through panels, at-home experientials, and expert guidance.
“We are honored to be a part of this groundbreaking cultural event and helping make pleasure education more accessible and available to an eager online audience,” Le Wand and b-Vibe CEO Alicia Sinclair said. “Sex and pleasure education is a core part of b-Vibe’s and Le Wand’s marketing and development and a key way we connect with our audience, and the SEX+ Summit gives us a rare opportunity to offer core knowledge while highlighting our popular product lines. It’s a win-win relationship and an absolute pleasure working with Anne and Sarah on such a special project.”
This weekend-long digital event focuses on, among others, Black, queer, non-binary and non-Black POC voices to foster conversations about sex, sexuality and spirituality often left out of mainstream wellness and sexuality spaces.
Joining the SEX+ Summit are Sexuality Doula Ev’Yan Whitney and author, LGBTQ+ advocate and pundit Jeffrey Marsh as keynote speakers, with Black feminist folk-healer Jade T. Perry hosting a sensual group tarot reading to kick off the event. Panelists include astrologer Dayna Lynn Nuckolls of The People’s Oracle, Body Relationship Coach Ivy Felicia, trauma expert and queer media consultant Jimanekia Eborn, activist and artist Sean Saifa Wall of the Intersex Justice Project, therapist and radical body acceptance advocate Sonalee Rashatwar, President and CEO of SIECUS—Sex Ed for Social Change Christine Soyong Harley, and many others.
“I love talking about how to release shame and step into sexual liberation,” Whitney said. “I love speaking about sensuality: the practice of it, the theory of it, the embodiment of it. Pleasure, as well. I hope that my voice and wisdom will spur others to heal and actualize themselves.”
Each workshop, panel, keynote and at-home experiential is produced for digital engagement with a mix of live discussions, and downloadable content and activities attendees can enjoy at their leisure.
“Participating in an event like the SEX+ Summit feels like contributing to both dialogue and action around the long, slow work of re-recognizing the always-already-there intimacy between our spiritual, intellectual and physical lives,” said Diana Rose, astrologer, tarot reader, reiki master and SEX+ Summit panel speaker.
The SEX+ Summit also connects attendees with the wellness world's tarot, astrology, breathwork, sex toys, herbalism and more services, with a marketplace of makers, artists, service providers and brands who represent the latest in sexual and sensual wellness.
“It's an exciting time to be a part of the SEX+ Summit,” said Tracy Felder, pleasure product educator and SEX+ Summit pleasure workshop host. “It means that there's a great shift in diversity and how society is ready to be educated with folks that relate to them daily when it comes to sexuality. I'm happy to be a part of the movement.”
