LOS ANGELES—Icon Brands has just released its new collection of realistic dildos, Shades, six new thermoplastic rubber (TPR) toys that fade from one shade to the next, as in red to purple, yellow to orange, and emerald and aqua to ice, when activated.
Shades is the result of a proprietary technology developed over the better part of a year, said a spokesman for the company, in which the actual weight of the colors vary, so as one color sinks, the other rises, creating unlimited “shades" in-between, in jewel-like tones.
“They’re so sparkling that storeowners think they’re glass,” said Icon sales manager Sara Hentcy. “They were squeezing them at trade shows just to make sure they were TPR and not crystal.”
Shades debuts in six styles: two 8” blends, two 7” and two 6”.
“We sized them for women, and women are all about ‘the 6, 7 and 8,’ as we all know,” joked Hentcy. "The pieces are packaged in clamshells to let their sparkle shine through, with Icon’s trademark bright graphics behind them."
