Good Vibrations, Crave Hosting Build-A-Vibe Workshop

SAN FRANCISCO—Good Vibrations partnered with innovative erotic toy company Crave for a one-of-a-kind workshop that lets participants build their own Crave Duet vibrator.

Participants will create and keep their own vibe, using materials and oversight provided by Crave founders Ti Chang and Michael Topolovac. Part of A Day at the Antique Vibrator Museum, Good Vibrations’ Polk Street store, home of the museum, will host the event 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 21.

Crave, a luxury sex toy company for women based and manufacturing in San Francisco, has gotten much buzz for its beautiful and unusual sex toy jewelry, especially the Vesper vibrating necklace, and for its technologically sophisticated, USB-rechargable vibrators like the Duet. Ordinarily retailing for $149, the Duet built by workshop participants will be theirs for just $95. When purchasing tickets, participants can choose one of two time slots: 4-5 p.m. or 5-6 p.m. (If demand is sufficient, Michael and Ti will teach a third workshop 6-7 p.m.) Each ticket accommodates one or two builders, who will build one vibe. Space is limited.

Can’t make the workshop? Crave products are always available at Good Vibrations stores and at GoodVibes.com.

One of multiple events in 2017 celebrating Good Vibrations’s first 40 years, A Day at the AVM will feature three distinct events, two of them at no charge to attendees. Details about all three, culminating in Crave’s Build-A-Vibe workshop, can be found below. The even is open to those 18 and over only.

The AVM, part of the Polk Street Good Vibrations, showcases a vibrator collection in development since founder Joani Blank opened the store. Featuring vibrators spanning most of the 20th Century and contextualizing them historically, the museum is open daily (except when closed for trainings and special events) from 12:30-6:30 p.m. daily; late night Thursdays to 8:30 p.m. Call the store at (415) 345-0400 to ensure the museum is open when you wish to visit. Guided tours can be scheduled for groups and for members of the press; please check with curator and Staff Sexologist Carol Queen PhD to arrange at [email protected].
