OAKLAND, Calif.—Adult boutique Feelmore has taken the first step to open a sex store in a federally regulated airport.
“Street retail is changing, and Feelmore must do its best to stay ahead of the change. Preparing beyond street retail will ensure we survive,” said Nenna, owner of Feelmore.
Three weeks ago, Feelmore was awarded the Airport Concession Disadvantage Business Enterprise Certification. ACDBE was developed to level the playing field for individuals and/or businesses that are economically and socially disadvantaged. Nenna is an African-American female who owns of the company, which fits the criteria for the program.
Nenna sought to understand the process for years by studying the landscape of federal airports and airport concessions.
“It’s challenging for small to midsize businesses to access airports economy but I am eager to continue learning everything I possibly can to ensure it happens for Feelmore,” said Nenna.
With the opportunity to bring a new type of retail into airports in America, Nenna believes it will be a game changer not just in the adult industry but also in entrepreneurship circles in all industries.
“The vision has always been large and I will not stop Dreaming. Who knows … perhaps one day there could be in a Feelmore in Oakland International Airport or San Francisco International Airport,” Nenna said.
