LOS ANGELES—Pleasure products brand Clandestine Devices this summer officially launched its first-ever wearable vibrator, the Companion, and feedback from retailers and others has been highly enthusiastic, according to the company.
The manufacturer, best known for its Mimic and Mimic+ massagers, introduced the Companion to select buyers via Zoom meetings at June's virtual AVN Novelty Expo (ANE) as part of the new item's rollout over the summer months, to tremendous success, operation manager Lulu Shwartzer relates.
"It was exciting to be doing my first shows with Clanestine Devices," Shwartzer said. "I love the brand and it's an honor to be representing it. We had such a great response from store owners, online retailers, bloggers and distributors from around the globe, many who had not been exposed to the Mimic or the Mimic+—much less the Companion—and were unaware of what we had to offer."
Shwartzer added that shows like ANE offer "a great opportunity to sit down with new buyers and introduce them to the Companion and create sales strategies moving forward with those who are already carrying it as well as the rest of the line. Companion is taking off with retailers, so now it is just a matter of sustaining that momentum over time.
Rechargeable, waterproof and equipped with an accompanying wearable remote control and detachable wristband, the Companion offers seven quiet vibration patterns and five levels of intensity (four if used solo). The remote control range works up to 60 feet for 1.5 hours, and the interchangeable remote bands are compatible with Apple Watch/smart watch bands.
