HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Sportsheets’ own Executive Administrator Joanne Queenin has been named one of AVN's 30 Behind the Scenes Most Influential People in the adult industry. She is profiled int eh August issue of the magazine.
The one-time NASA and mortgage industry exec has been with Sportsheets since 2011, and President Julie Stewart can't help but wonder aloud how the company ever got along without her.
"We've come to rely on Joanne for all the reasons we brought her onboard, and we soon found out we needed her for all the things we didn't even realize we needed. She's proactive, dedicated, and always on top of things. And while she's really a sweetheart, I don't think she'd mind me saying, she's as tough as they come when she needs to be—and we love her for it."
Being named one of AVN's 30 behind the scenes players in this business is recognition this industrious woman takes very seriously, and yet her natural humility compels her to spread the credit around to her officemates. "It really is such an honor to be named, but it's truly a team effort here at Sportsheets. I'm very proud to be part of such an amazing organization of talented, hardworking and dedicated people here. They're the best in the business to work for and to work with."
When asked how she felt upon hearing the news of her recent accolades, Joanne characteristically turned the topic off herself thinking it was a Sportsheets honor they were referring to. Sherri L. Shaulis, Senior Editor of AVN, had to reiterate several times that it was Joanne being individually recognized by AVN. Forever humble, Joanne preferred to highlight the recent accomplishments of the company she's been happily employed at for almost two years.
"Personal awards are fun and exciting but I'm also so very proud of the fact that Sportsheets just won StorErotica's Best Fetish Company of the Year for an unprecedented second year in a row. I want to thank Sherri and all the great people at AVN for doing such an awesome job. What makes this award and its timing more special to me is that it comes on my second anniversary here at Sportsheets. It makes my upcoming two-year mark even more special to me.”
"This is one of those awards that really makes me feel good," offered CEO and founder Tom Stewart. "Joanne has gone the extra mile since the day she arrived here, and if I had one regret about hiring her, it's that she wasn't available sooner. This year we're celebrating our 20th anniversary here at Sportsheets, and I'm confident the next 20 years are going to be happy and profitable, and I know Joanne will play a large part in that success."
