MINNEAPOLIS - Sex toy and equipment retailer Smitten Kitten has a new presence in cyberspace, thanks to a website, blog and Facebook page.
With Valentine's Day coming up, the store is offering a 20 percent discount on the company's best-selling adult items through Feb. 14. Consumers need only mention "The Big Sale" and Lavender Magazine to take advantage of the special.
Smitten Kitten has also scheduled several in-store workshops in the coming weeks.
"Self-Loving with Jayme Waxman" is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 5 at a cost of $20. Waxman is a celebrated sex educator and author who has produced instructional videos for Adam & Eve.
The store's free "Sexy Mamas Sunday Mornings" series features owner Jennifer Pritchett discussing topics such as "Sex Ed Refresher for Parents" and "Orgasmic Birth" for other new moms and moms-to-be. The meetings start at 10 a.m. on Feb. 8 and 22.
"Introduction to Sex Toys for Everyday People" covers a variety of adult products and their uses. This free workshop will be held Feb. 22 starting at 7 p.m.
"Beware of the Jelly Menace: Toxic Toys 101" addresses the environmental and personal health hazards posed by some adult novelties made from porous jelly rubber. The free workshop is slated for 7 p.m. March 15.
