SAN FRANCISCO—The massive Armory in San Francisco, known as the home to Kink.com, is opening its doors to the public for two nights this month, bringing an air of romance to its Upper Floor with two experiential dinner parties for lovers and those seeking love.
Each “Devoured SF” event will draw some seventy guests—one night for couples, one for singles—to a culinary event curated by relationship expert Joy Nordenstrom (Joy of Romance, Inc.) and hosted by matchmaker Courteney Kay of Sparx. The sensual four-course dinners will prepared by Cutthroat Kitchen finalist (and Airbnb Inc. Executive Chef) Anisha Jagtap, with an assist by food blogger and sous chef Megan McCulloch.
Epicurean treats including Goddess Elixir cocktails, chili poprocks, lamb lollipops and tea-smoked oysters. In addition to a playful, interactive meal, attendees will be engaged in games and exercises intended to stimulate conversation and romance.
At the singles’ dinner, activities are designed to lead to more connections throughout the evening. As a bonus for attendees, they will all be eligible to be entered into both the Sparx and Joy of Romance matchmaking databases.
At the couples’ soiree, attendees will learn something new during each interactive course. Both new and established couples are encouraged to attend.
The evenings will also include cocktails and entertainment, a blind wine tasting and “supertaster” testing, and, for VIP attendees, a tour of the historical Armory. For a more detailed list of activities, menus and pricing, click here.
The organizers of the dinners are careful to note that although they are taking place at the legendary Upper Floor, these are not swingers events. So vanilla is an entirely acceptable flavor for the evening.
