Peekay Inc. Holds 8th Annual ‘Pajama Party’ to Benefit Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse Victims

AUBURN, Washington—Peekay Inc. held its eighth annual "Pajama Party" on Dec. 12 to benefit women and children who are victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse. Peekay's founders and several staff members assembled more than 150 gift bags containing bathrobes, undergarments, apparel and various toiletries to be donated to a variety of charities and programs. All of the items were donated by Peekay and its employees.

This year's beneficiaries included past recipients ACAP Child and Family Services of Auburn, SafePlace Olympia, and Children of the Night of Southern California.

Additionally, Mary's Place, a Seattle-based non-profit day center empowering women and their children to reclaim their lives, was added as a beneficiary this year.

"We are excited to add Mary's Place, a suggestion from one of our employees, to our list of beneficiaries this year," said Phyllis Heppenstall, founder/COB of Peekay. "This is one small way that we help to ensure a measure of happiness and cheer gets spread around a bit. Our employees are always excited to participate in this volunteer program every year, and we are pleased that every year we are able to add more PJ bags."

Peekay, the parent company of retail chains Lovers, A Touch of Romance and ConRev, has focused on giving back to the community and supporting women and children since it was founded thirty years ago.
