Lauren Marie Fleming Launches Bawdy Love Body Confidence Series

CYBERSPACE—Lauren Marie Fleming announces the launch of her coaching program, Bawdy Love: 10 Steps to Profoundly Loving Your Body. Enrollment, as well as application for scholarship, will end at midnight PST/3 a.m. EST on Friday, Feb. 27.

Known for her critically acclaimed sex blog, QueerieBradshaw.com, Fleming’s 10-week interactive, online series of motivational workshops, coaching calls, guest speakers, and more aims to help kick negative body image issues and self doubt, and replace those habits with the practice of radical self-love.

“Every year, in the United States alone, $2.3 trillion is spent trying to convince us that we need to change the way we look, to be worthy of love and acceptance,” Fleming said. “Bawdy Love is our revolution against that media powerhouse. It is a rebellion made of people audacious enough to believe they are worthy of love right now, right here, no exceptions.”

Fleming knows firsthand what it’s like to hate her body: at age 7, she was put on her first diet; by high school graduation, she had been on a diet for 10 years, starved of much-needed physical and emotional nourishment.

“I went off to college with an eating disorder, battling horrible depression, hating my body, and feeling completely unworthy of love,” Fleming said. “Then one day, I realized my self-hatred was literally killing me. So, I decided to take radical steps to stop hating myself and start loving who I was.”

Those radical steps included dancing burlesque, posing nude for art classes, and writing a blog that celebrated sexiness at any size.

“For years, I was told I couldn’t be desirable and fat, that those two things didn’t coexist," she said. "Now that I know how wrong that message is, I want to help others discover the beauty in their bodies and the pleasure it brings them.”

Bawdy Love isn’t just about the physical—much of Fleming’s work delves into the psychological aspects of self-worth as well: “Bawdy Love is about discarding what you’ve been told is ‘decent,’ and replacing it with what you feel is authentic,” Fleming said.

Staying true to her belief in authenticity, Fleming is offering scholarships for 10 percent of the total number of people who sign up before the deadline. “My team and I have filled Bawdy Love chock-full of transformational material, so it is worth every dime, but we recognize that many people don’t have a dime to spare. If you're ready to transform, we're ready to help you.”

The scholarship involves a $20 “commitment fee”—all other program costs are covered for those approved.

Whether on scholarship or paying full price, all members of Bawdy Love get an extensive “Bawdy Building” workbook, daily meditations and yoga, weekly coaching calls, and Q&As with celebrities about their own paths towards radical self-love, including Jessica Drake, Kelly Shibari, Elle Chase and Joan Price.
