SACRAMENTO, Calif.—The Home Pleasure Party Plan Association reported a successful experience at the most recent International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas, thanks to a number of events sponsored by the organization.
HPPPA hosted a Kink & Bondage Lab, sponsored by Doc Johnson, Sportsheets and XR Brands, on the opening night of the most recent International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas.
Emily Silva of Sportsheets demonstrated various items from their bondage and S&M lines. Rebecca Wienberg of XR Brands conducted recurring demonstrations of their new Electrosex S&M product line Zeus. Toni Hunt of Erotasies Home Parties showed Japanese rope tie techniques using attendees as volunteers.
The night ended with a 'best costume' contest. The winning couple won an entire collection of Doc Johnson's Black Rose Collection. The event was well attended by HPPPA members and other guests.
In addition to the Kink & Bondage Lab, HPPPA hosted a panel discussion featuring three well known, well respected industry leaders: Loren Levy, president of Classic Erotica; Scott Watkins, vice president of sales and marketing for Doc Johnson; and Leslie (Lulu) Daniels, a 25-year industry veteran currently with NS Novelties.
The panel, moderated by Tamara Payton Bell, founder of HPPPA, led panelists and guests through an open discussion about the state of the industry as it relates to the home pleasure party sector. One attendee, Donna Jacobs, owner of Isles of Paradise, had the following to say about the event: “This discussion provided me with a different outlook on the direction of home parties. I enjoyed it, good discussion.”
Kim Varner, member liaison for HPPPA, commented on the importance of conducting these type of events for their members and anyone outside of the association whose interested in attending.
“The suite events we host are intended to provide manufacturers with insight into our sector of the industry, while provoking ideas about growth & enhancement for our members and guests,” she said, “Our intent is to have everyone walk away with a renewed sense of purpose.”
Additionally, the HPPPA presented a half day of workshops geared toward the growth and development of independent home party plans.
HPPPA members and non-members participated in two workshops: Serving Your Customer and Building Your Reputation As A Sex Toy Expert With Your Customers. The association conducts different workshops each year during ILS. The workshops are conducted by members with specific experiences and expertise as well as industry professionals.
