Eldorado Helps Fight Hunger With Latest Food Drive Efforts

BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Eldorado Trading Company’s participation in the 2013 Community Food Share provided meals for thousands of Colorado families in need.

“I’m extremely proud of the Eldorado team. This year our team got creative and organized a bake sale, chili cook-off, and cookie battle all to raise money for Community Food Share,” says Eldorado founder and CEO Larry Garland. “A little goes a long way. It’s gratifying just to know Eldorado helped put food on the table for local Colorado families.”

Eldorado raised 7,223 pounds of food for the Boulder and Broomfield Counties Food Share program for the holiday season resulting in more than 7,200 meals for hungry Coloradans.

The unfortunate reality in Colorado today is that an estimated one in six people live at or below poverty including 13,046 children.

Community Food Share, the food bank for Boulder and Broomfield Counties, has been providing service to the community since 1981. In 2012 Community Food Share distributed over 7.1 million nutritious meals.
