BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Eldorado Trading Company’s proud participation in the 2014 Community Food Share provided meals for thousands of Colorado families in need.
Eldorado raised more than $2,500 for the Boulder and Broomfield Counties Food Share program for the holiday season resulting in more than 8,200 meals for hungry Coloradans.
Eldorado assembled a food share committee to create exciting activities for Eldorado employees to participate in and donate to. Some of the fun money-raisers were a bake sale, chili cook-off, football pool, vibrator races, and pie-in-the-face of an Eldorado manager.
Larry Garland, CEO, said, “I believe that being a good citizen of the community means giving back to that community. It’s exciting to work with such a great team that pulls together to help those in need. Our team came together and raised over 7,500 meals for those in Boulder and Broomfield Counties.”
The unfortunate reality in Colorado today is that an estimated one in six people live at or below poverty, including 13,046 children.
Community Food Share, the food bank for Boulder and Broomfield Counties, has been providing service to the community since 1981. In 2012 Community Food Share distributed more than 7.1 million nutritious meals. For more information about Community Food Share, visit www.communityfoodshare.org.
