CAMBRIDGE, Ontario—Coquette International released their 2013 Main Collection today in anticipation of the new year.
The company's newest collection shows off the designers love of color blocking and contrasting elements. Retailers can expect to see stylized images with lilac, navy and nude tones. Several designs throughout the book feature crocheted aspects, having been inspired by outerwear trends, with raised motifs offering texture and depth to the line. With the new design direction, the collection has a wider range of styles, and an expanded plus section due to consumer demand.
“In this collection we wanted showcase pieces geared toward color,” explained senior designer Elaine Carson. “There is an increased amount of stretch lace prints and patterns which we have paired with solid tones to bring out textures, creating definition to those pieces. This is a fun and vibrant collection that we expect will pop in-stores and do well for our retailers.”
Each season, the Coquette design team creates true classics to carry through the catalogs, remaining consistent with silhouettes and fitting. For 2013, the newly designed molded cups, that continue in popularity, can be seen throughout on babydolls and bustiers. The traditional corsetry with flexible boning and structuring is back, and the number of babydolls and their patterns have been enhanced. Within the line, there is a greater variety with differing lengths between the styles.
Additionally, retailers will find the strong selling animal prints have returned with a modern twist. The pieces have been made with leopard print mesh in all black without the two-toned color pieces that have been seen in the past. Finally, the main collection is introducing sequins. Previously only seen in the Holiday line, this sub-collection adds a sparkly flare that pairs perfectly with delicate lace.
“Our 2013 book is upscale with a boutique appeal,” commented vice president of sales and marketing Marcus Horea. “Our team has put together a look that speaks to the Coquette brand and continues to move ahead in their designs. We are very excited to reveal our newest catalog!”
The line is scheduled to hit shelves by early February.
