CatalystCon Midwest Focusing On Trans Rights

CHICAGO—For the first time ever, CatalystCon—a conference designed to open conversations about sexuality—will take place in Chicago and will feature a number of informational events focused on trans individuals and their rights.

Additionally, adult retailer Good Vibrations will support the conference in a number of ways.

CatalystCon Midwest takes place April 1-3 at the O’Hare Hyatt in Chicago.

Jackie Rednour-Bruckman, executive vice president of Good Vibrations, will host the Closing Keynote Plenary Address at CatalystCon Midwest with special guest Bryanna A. Jenkins, the executive director and founder of Trans Alliance in Baltimore. Jenkins has received national attention and accolades for her Trans Uprising activist events featured in the New York Times, The Advocate, and other news outlets and publications.

Good Vibrations Staff Sexologist Carol Queen will moderate the Opening Keynote Plenary Address and present on various panels, including a session on The Sex & Pleasure Book written by Carol Queen PhD with Shar Rednour. Queen also will present on Slut Shaming and Building Bridges Between Sex Positive Retailers and Educators.

Good Vibrations Education Manager Andy Duran will be on a panel with Jackie Rednour-Bruckman called Queer and Trans Sexual Health.

“Body and sex positivity can be tricky landscapes to navigate and especially intense for queer and trans-identified folks,” said Rednour-Bruckman, who also will participate in a panel called Sex Positive Parenting. “Having access to accurate and compassionate health care information around sexual health should not just be a privilege.”
