Calvista Expands Warehouse Capacity

MELBOURNE, Australia—Calvista Australia has announced they have expanded their warehouse in South Melbourne by an additional 700 square meters.

The new storage area caters to the increased influx of inventory and adds to the existing 1,5000 square meter warehouse space. Calvista also has extensive warehouse facilities in Canberra and Auckland, New Zealand.

Bulk storage capacity has increased 47 percent. Picking locations have also grown by 26 percent, with 6,800 pick bins for current On Range product. Six simultaneous dispatch packing stations are now online, with the flexibility of an additional station able to increase, in total, output during peak periods by 20 percent.

Significant improvements in the accuracy of orders that are picked have been achieved through a product barcode maintenance schedule. The speed in customer order dispatch has also increased with the majority of orders now on an impressive same day turnaround.

Calvista’s new warehouse manager, Zak Mitchell has a bachelor of commerce degree in economics and finance, with his main focus now on process improvement, management and planning.

The additional warehousing capacity combined with new company software, websites and Digital Asset Management Library combine to equip Calvista for the changing demands of the market and to further secure market share.
