CHINO, Calif.—California Exotic Novelties, the world’s largest and most respected pleasure product manufacturer, was the proud sponsor of the Astkol-Alfa Thai Fest. The event took place Feb. 1-4 and brought together manufacturers and Russian retailers on the Koh Chang Island of Thailand. With a focus on business and communication, the event was the first of its kind.
Susan Colvin, president and CEO of California Exotic Novelties, said, “We are so very pleased with the extremely well-organized gathering that our friends at Astkol put together and the amazing business opportunity they created for us. We appreciate being able to connect with the Russian retailers as it gives us the ability to learn from them so we can better market to them and their customers.”
California Exotic Novelties was a primary sponsor of the event and conducted a Company Presentation. It was hosted by Lupe Martinez, account executive for California Exotic Novelties, and included product information, a profile of the company, and prizes to lucky winners.
Leo Fishman, owner of Astkol-Alfa, explained, “The aim of the Astkol Thai Fest was to gather the Russian retailers in a location outside of Russia to do business. The leading retailers, both online and stores, from CIS countries met with manufacturers from all over the world. We were at Koh Chang Island of Thailand, which is one of the most beautiful places in the world, comprising warmth, comfort and service. We conducted presentations where each manufacturer representative spoke about their company and products. Lupe Martinez from California Exotic Novelties did an amazing job and everyone had fun answering trivia questions about CalExotics.”
Martinez said, “The CalExotics Presentation allowed us to spotlight our products and explain sales programs and promotions. I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with everything Leo and the Astkol team did for us! Thai Fest was a fantastic experience and I see it as another dynamic step in making our industry as strong as possible by working together. California Exotic Novelties also co-sponsored the island boat cruise. The ride combined business and leisure.
Fishman added, “CalExotics was also the sponsor of the cruise which took participants on a ship to tour the wonderful scenery. During this time the manufacturers were able to learn about the trends of the Russian market and had the opportunity to listen to Russian retailers, exchange ideas, ask questions and learn from each other. This model allowed everyone to learn and benefit from a collaborative environment.”
The goal of the Astkol Thai Fest was for manufacturers to understand the trends of the Russian market. California Exotic Novelties and all the retailers and businesses involved have the opportunity to implement what they’ve learned and use those tools to succeed.
