CSC Asking For Help For Give OUT Day

SAN FRANCISCO—Give OUT Day is the national day of giving to LGBTQ and allied organizations across the country, and the Center for Sex & Culture in San Francisco is asking for help from supporters during the event.

In 2013, Give OUT Day raised more than $600,000, from 5,474 individuals in support of more than 400 nonprofit groups across the country. The Center for Sex & Culture raised more than $15,000 in a single day, which directly helped support the CSC throughout the reest of the year, and helped build the new Development and Outreach Programs.

This year’s Give OUT Day is May 15, and every donor the CSC gets will help directly. Donations will also help the center collection its share of awards from participating grantors such as Horizons Foundation.

“Last year we placed high on the national leader board,” CSC officials said in a letter to supporters. “This year we hope to do even better, but we need your help!”

Give OUT Day has added a new feature to their website, allowing participants to schedule in advance their donations for May 15.

In the case of the CSC, visit http://giveout.razoo.com/story/Center-For-Sex-And-Culture either now to preschedule your donation, or visit on May 15 to make a donation.

The CSC gets special prizes and incentives for every individual donation received, regardless of the dollar amount donated.

“In other words: If you can ‘only’ give $10, that’s great,” officials said. “If you and 5-10 friends can each give $10, that’s even better! Signal boosts and modest individual donations matter just as much as larger gifts. Please don’t hesitate to give what you can and to tell your friends to do the same.”
