HILLSBOROUGH, N.C.—AdamAndEve.com is curious about your lovemaking habits. This month, the company asked over 1,000 adults how many incorporated lubricants into their lovemaking.
While most men and women (43 percent) said they never used lubricants, a healthy 39 percent of both men and women said lubricants were sometimes a part of their bedroom activities. Only 17 percent admitted that they frequently used lubricants to enhance their lovemaking.
Age was not a huge factor either. Respondents ranged from age 18-70-plus, and the most frequent users of lube were in the 21-39 age range.
Dr. Kat Van Kirk, resident sexpert for AdamAndEve.com, says, “I find it encouraging that young adults are adding lubricants to their sexual repertoire. We all know that a good lubricant can enhance the sensation for both partners. But I would like to see that number go up for the 40-plus crowd as well.”
“Adam & Eve carries a huge variety of brands and types of lubricants,” says AdamAndEve.com Director of Marketing Chad Davis. “From water-based, to flavored, to silicone- based lubricants…we encourage our customers to explore a healthy sex life within their own comfort zone.”
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.
