LOS ANGELES—Adult platform xHamster has just released a poll of over 6500 U.S. visitors to the site, focusing on their politics and porn habits.
Fans of adult content are significantly more politically engaged than the general population, according to Alex Hawkins, vice president at xHamster. According to the survey, 88 percent of U.S. visitors eligible to vote plan to do so in the 2020 election, whereas just over 60 of the voting age population does so nationally.

“We have over 120 million U.S. visitors a month, 95 percent of whom are citizens and eligible to vote,” Hawkins said. “They're incredibly politically engaged, but no one is paying attention to them. In a close election, a smart candidate should be looking for any method they can to get out the vote — and we have them."
The xHamster survey shows some crucial information for politicians looking to turn out the vote:
■ Fans of gay/bi and cuckold films are the most likely to vote in this election. Their fan bases skew more liberal and center (respectively) than other genres, and demonstrate enthusiasm on the left
■ Fans of MILFs are the next most likely to vote, and single largest porn voter bloc. MILF fans skew dramatically more to the right than other genres. A small increase in MILF votes could swing the election to the right.
■ Fans of cams are among the least likely to vote.
“Cams could decide this election," Hawkins said. "If a politician from either party wants to make a last-minute pitch to voters on the xHamsterLive platform, we'll put them on the front page to speak directly at our audience of over 60 million. No matter what your politics, we should all want to see more people engaged and voting."
