MIAMI—Positive tests for sexually transmitted diseases continued to decline during December, according to new monthly figures released by Talent Testing Service (TTS), which serves the adult entertainment industry.
Overall, the three Chlamydia Urine rates show a steady or downward trend from the November 2022 peak. In December 2023 the Male rate of 1.6 percent was the same as in the prior month while the female rate dropped from 1.3 percent to 0.7 percent while the Total also decreased from 1.5 percent to 1.2 percent. In summary, seeing that historic levels have been around 2 percent, the December 2023 rates which fell below 2 percent can be considered to be within expectations, the company said.
The gonorrhea urine positivity index during December 2023 showed the female rate turning up to 0.8 percent from 0.2 percent in November while the male rate ticked up to 0.5 percent
from 0.4 percent, with the Total Rate also rising to 0.6 percent from 0.3 percent. Looking at the trendline, the December 2023 levels can still be considered to be within anticipated levels.
All three indicators for December 2023 dropped, with the female rate declining to 0.1 percent from 0.6 percent, the Total Rate also at 0.1 percent from 0.4 percent, and the Male Rate at 0.0 percent from 0.2 percent. The current rate levels are within the general range of 0.0 percent to 1.5 percent.
Other highlights included:
• Mycoplasma Genitalium Urine – Positivity Index – The drop on the three rates continued in December 2023 where the total population rate dropped to its lowest level at 6.1 percent from 8.1 percent in November, continuing the downward direction from the prior four months. Similarly, the male rate hit a low of 5.9 percent. from 7.1 percent, it is a fifth consecutive monthly drop. The Female rate now shows four downward months with a low of 6.4% from 9.1%. These rates continue to be monitored weekly.
• Chlamydia Rectal rates for December 2023 — The figures show a slight drop in the Total rate going to 2.1 percent from 2.3 percent while the male rate increased for a second consecutive month to 3.4 percent from 2.5 percent, and the female rate dropped to 1.1 percent from 2.2 percent.
• The Chlamydia Throat Rates – The figures continue to be aligned to their general trend with levels below 0.5 percent. Although within an overall smaller range of 0.0 percent to 3.5 percent.
• The Gonorrhea Rectal Rates – The numbers since April 2023 continue in a downward trend as the male rate went down to 1.0 percent from 2.3 percent, with the female rate increasing to 1.3 from 0.7 percent, and the Total rate down to 1.2 percent. from 1.5%.
• The Gonorrhea Throat rates – The three rates remain within the range of the prior three months, but with inverted levels for the female and male, the former now at 2.1 percent from 0.9 percent, and the latter down to 1.0 percent from 2.0 percent, and the Total rate increasing to 1.6 percent from 1.4 percent. Overall, the rate levels displayed in the Gonorrhea Rectal swab tests show a more volatile behavior than the other three swab tests.
