MIAMI—Talent Testing Service (TTS), a leading industry testing provider committed to ensuring the well-being of talents, has announced the release of its March 2024 update, which features the latest positivity rates of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
Chlamydia Urine - Positivity Index
Overall, the three Chlamydia Urine rates show similar behavior over time, including a steady downward trend from the November 2022 peak. In March 2024, for the second consecutive month, all rates dropped; the total is now 0.5% from 0.9%, the Male at 0.7% from 1.1%, and the Female at 0.2% from 0.8%. Seeing that historic levels have been around 2.0%, the February 2024 rates below 2.0% can be considered to be within expectations.
GC (Gonorrhea) Urine - Positivity Index
All the March 2024 rates turned downward; the Female rate at 0.7% from 1.0%, the Male at 0.4% from 0.5%, and the Total rate at 0.5% from 0.7%. Looking at the trendline, this month's rates can still be considered within the regular level.
Trichomonas Vaginalis Urine- Positivity Index
In March 2024 the Female rate went up a step to 0.5% from 0.4%, the Total rate also up a bit to 0.4% from 0.3%, while the Male rate remains unchanged at 0.3%. The current rate levels are still within the general range of 0.0% to 1.5%.
Mycoplasma Genitalium Urine – Positivity Index
The March 2024 rates show three different directions, the Total rate is unchanged at 4.7%, the Female rate is up at 5.6% from 5.4%, and the Male rate is down to 3.7% from 4.0%.
Chlamydia & GC (Gonorrhea) Throat and Rectal Swabs – Positivity Index
Based on market activity the positivity rates for the four tests below have December 2022 as a relevant, starting point where all levels display their peak and then start overall downward trends. In March 2024, the Chlamydia Rectal rates show the Total rate going up to 1.5% from 1.4%; the Male rate also increased to 1.7% from 1.5%, and the Female rate unchanged at 1.4%. The Chlamydia Throat rates continue to be aligned to their general trend with levels at or below 1.0%, note the Male rate is at 0%.
Although within an overall smaller range of 0.0% to 3.5% when compared to the other swab rates, the Gonorrhea Rectal lines volatility since April 2023 is noticeable, with the Total rate now down to 0.7% from 1.2%, the Female rate decreasing to 0.7% from 1.7%, and the Male rate now steady at 0.6%. The three Gonorrhea Throat rates remain within the range of the prior six months, and in this month, all rates have a downward direction: the Female at 1.6% from 1.7%, the Male at 0.7% from 1.0%, and the Total at 1.2% from 1.4%. In conclusion, the rate levels displayed in the Gonorrhea Rectal swab tests show a more volatile behavior than the other three swab tests.
