MIAMI—Talent Testing Service (TTS) has released its June 2024 update featuring the latest positivity rates of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
Chlamydia Urine - Positivity Index
Overall, the three Chlamydia Urine rates show a similar behavior over time, including a steady downward trend from the November 2022 peak. In June 2024, all the rates converged at 1.4%, with the Total rate continuing to go up from 1.2% in May, the Female rate dropping from 1.5%, and the Male increasing from 0.9%. Seeing that historic levels have been around 2.0%, the current rates being below 2.0% can be considered to be within expectations.
GC (Gonorrhea) Urine - Positivity Index
In June 2024, the Female rate is up again to 1.2% from 0.9%, the Total rate is also up to 0.7% from 0.5%, and the Male rate just turned upward to 0.3% from 0.2%. Looking at the trendline, this month's Female rate is moving over the trend while the other two remain within the trend.
Trichomonas Vaginalis Urine- Positivity Index
In June 2024, the Female rate increased to 0.7% from 0.4%, the Total rate also increased to 0.4% from 0.3%, and the Male rate decreased to 0.0% from 0.2%. The current rate levels are still within the general range of 0.0% to 1.5%.
Mycoplasma Genitalium Urine – Positivity Index
In June 2024 two rates increased, the Total rate at 4.1% from 3.7% and the Female rate at 5.4% from 4.7%, while the Male rate just dropped to 2.6% from 2.7%.
Chlamydia & GC (Gonorrhea) Throat and Rectal Swabs – Positivity Index
Based on market activity, the positivity rates for the four tests below have December 2022 as a relevant starting point where all levels display their peak and then start overall downward trends. In June 2024, the three Chlamydia Rectal rates decreased, the Total to 1.3% from 1.8%, the Female rate to 1.8% from 2.0%, and the Male rate to 0.7% from 1.7%.
The Chlamydia Throat rates continue to be aligned with their general trend with levels at or below 1.0%, with the Male rate at 0.2% from 0.3%, the Total rate unchanged at 0.3%, and the Female rate also flat at 0.4%. Although within an overall smaller range of 0.0% to 3.5% when compared to the other swab rates, the Gonorrhea Rectal lines volatility, visible since April 2023, continues with the Total rate dropping to 0.7% from 1.1%, the Female rate still going up to 1.0% from 0.6%, and the Male rate dropping to 0.3% from 1.7%.
The Gonorrhea Throat rates remain within the range of the prior seven months. This month, the Female rate decreased to 0.8% from 1.3%, the Male rate increased to 1.0% from 0.8%, and the Total rate decreased to 0.9% from 1.1%. In conclusion, the rate levels displayed in the Gonorrhea Rectal swabs show a more volatile behavior than the other three swab tests.
