Talent Testing Service Releases July 2024 STD Trends

MIAMITalent Testing Service announced the release of its July 2024 update on the latest positivity rates of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).  

Chlamydia Urine - Positivity Index 

Overall, the three Chlamydia Urine rates show a similar behavior over time including the steady downward trend from the November 2022 peak.

In July 2024, all the rates dropped from the June level of 1.4%, with the Total rate down to 0.8%, the Female rate to 1.0%, and the Male to 0.6%. Seeing that historic levels have been around 2.0%, the current rates being below 2.0% can be considered to be within expectations. 

GC (Gonorrhea) Urine - Positivity Index 

In July 2024 the three Gonorrhea Urine rates are lower, the Female rate is down to 0.5% from 1.2%, the Total rate at 0.3%  from 0.7%, and the Male rate at 0.2% from 0.3%. In this month the three rates remain within the trend.

Trichomonas Vaginalis Urine- Positivity Index  

In July 2024 the Female rate turned down to 0.6% from 0.7%, the Total rate also decreased to 0.3% from 0.4%, while the Male rate is just up to 0.1% from 0.0%. The current rate levels are still within the general range of 0.0% to 1.5%. 

Mycoplasma Genitalium Urine – Positivity Index 

In July 2024 the Total rate went up to 4.9% from 4.1%, the Male rate also increased to 5.0% from 2.6%, and the Female rate dropped to 4.9% from 5.4%.

Chlamydia & GC (Gonorrhea) Throat and Rectal Swabs – Positivity Index 

Based on market activity the positivity rates for the four tests below have December 2022 as a relevant, starting point where all levels display their peak and then start overall downward trends. In July 2024, the Total Chlamydia Rectal rate showed a decrease to 1.1% from 1.3%, the Female rate also dropped to 1.3% from 1.8%, and the Male rate is up to 0.9%  from 0.7%. The Chlamydia Throat rates continue to be aligned with their general trend with levels at or below 1.0%, with the Male rate at 0.3% from 0.2%, the Total rate at 0.5% from 0.3%, and the Female rate also up at 0.7% from 0.4%. 

Although within an overall smaller range of 0.0% to 3.5% when compared to the other swab rates, the Gonorrhea Rectal lines volatility, visible since April 2023, continues with the Total rate turning up to 0.9% from 0.7%, the Female rate going down to 0.8% from 1.0%, and the Male rate increasing to 1.1% from 0.3%. The three Gonorrhea Throat rates have made a sharp upward turn with the Female rate going up to 2.0% from 0.8%, the Male rate up to 1.9% from 1.0%,  and the Total rate up to to 2.0% from 0.9%.

In conclusion, the rate levels displayed in the Gonorrhea Rectal swabs continue to show a more volatile behavior than the other three swab tests.
