Playboy Ups Pineapple Support Sponsorship to Partner Level

LOS ANGELESPlayboy has agreed to increase its sponsorship of Pineapple Support to the Partner level, the mental health nonprofit has announced.

As a sponsor for the non-profit organization since December 2020, Playboy is among more than 60 adult businesses and organizations that commit funds and resources to the nonprofit.

"Sponsoring Pineapple Support is important to Playboy," said Holly Ruprecht, Playboy's director of marketing and subscriptions. "We believe in sex worker rights and understand the challenges they face, especially with social media bullying on the rise. Pineapple Support fosters a vital safe space for sex workers, so we are proud to be a sponsor."

Pineapple Support was founded by Leya Tanit in 2018 after several deaths in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. Today, the organization has connected over 5,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy and counseling.

“We’re so thankful to Playboy for answering the call and realizing that, after a difficult few years, we all need to increase the mental health support available to those who work in our industry,” Tanit said. “As one of the most recognized brands in the adult industry, Playboy’s decision sends an important message to the larger community. We applaud them for their ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of adult performers, and for always investing in the future of this industry.”
