The adult industry is complex and the voices of those working within it are often marginalized—but that doesn't mean that many of its members don't have unique and interesting stories to tell, about their work and themselves. This is why Angry Pony Photography and Amberly Rothfield have teamed up to help get those voices heard by the public.
Submissions are open from now until December 15, 2019 for stories from any and all sex workers. Topics can range from work, interpersonal relationships, mental health or anything that has been impacted by the worker's chosen occupation. Intended to be a literary hug from sex workers to sex workers, this piece is also expected to help anyone who is curious about this little world to get insight directly from those involved.
“Working in this industry has done a lot for me, but I know how lonely it can feel sometimes," admitted Amberly Rothfield. "I really hope these pieces allows us all to feel more connected to each other. I am really proud that we can help get voices of those who haven’t had the platform that I have been so graced with these past two years.”
Angry Pony Photography, owned by David Corey, has worked within the adult industry as a photographer. His professionally done stills have allowed him to work with such acclaimed talent as Sofia Rose. It is his passion for helping all marginalized voices be heard that is driving this project. It was his idea to donate all proceeds to Pineapple Support, The Cupcake Girls and SWOP USA.
