LOS ANGELES—Educational organization Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE) has partnered with Ante Up! to present the Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR) online workshop via Zoom, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 11-13.
This intensive three-day training aims to educate adult industry members and sexuality professionals on racial, reproductive and disability rights as well as media justice. Those who participate will have the opportunity to build skills while learning important concepts that inform on the ways they work with customers and clients.
The event will be presented by EDSE Founder Anne Hodder-Shipp, CSE, and Ante Up! Founder Bianca Laureano, PhD h.c., MA, CSE, CSES, EDSE’s SAR.
“SARs help us evaluate and examine our beliefs and value systems around sexuality, autonomy, relationship dynamics, and more, and helps facilitate an even more expansive view on the unique and diverse ways humans live and express themselves,” Hodder-Shipp said. “SARs are recommended for every kind of sexuality professional, whether you work in education, retail, customer service or content production, and they can be a great option for folks who want training but can’t commit to an extensive certification or academic program.”
“The SAR that Ante Up! and EDSE have built is unique in that the content not only presents key sexuality concepts, but also incorporates essential reproductive justice, racial justice, disability justice, and social justice frameworks for an especially expansive and fulfilling experience,” Laureano said. “We encourage everyone to bring their full selves into this learning and an unlearning space! We'll be challenged, enlightened, and supported throughout the weekend while also building connection and community through group work!”
Cost is $450. This program meets the requirements for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselor, and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 10 CEs that can be used toward obtaining or maintaining AASECT certification.
