WASHINGTON, D.C.—In just a week, hundreds of the adult industry's members, friends and colleagues will gather in Washington, DC for Woodhull's Sexual Freedom Summit, and everyone reading this is invited to be there too! Expect brilliant, insightful discussions about politics and sex by day and celebrations of sexual freedom and its heroes by night.
The Summit weekend is packed with great events, amazing individuals, networking opportunities, and fabulous conversations about our fundamental human right to sexual freedom.
Attend the entire weekend or pick and choose here.
On Friday night, attendees will find a meet and greet like no other. "Popcorn & Porn," hosted by porn stars Nina Hartley and Buck Angel, features Porno Jim—the "Professor of Porn"—and his irreverent commentary on contemporary and vintage porn. And, weather permitting, we'll have a cigar bar with wonderful, hand-rolled cigars to purchase to support the work of Woodhull.
On Saturday, the Summit's educational program, "Prohibition Politics: The Assault on Sexual Freedom," highlights the increasingly vicious attacks in the resurgent war on sex and addresses ways to create the change sexual freedom advocates all want to see. Attendees will have a hard time choosing between twelve expert panels and interactive workshops, four for each of the three sessions, but there is no wrong choice as they explore a full range of sexual freedom issues.
A packed Saturday night begins with a VIP reception where attendees can meet and mingle with presenters, entertainers, authors, Woodhull's Board and Advisory Council and our Vicki Award recipients. Then we honor Vicki Award recipients Amber Hollibaugh, Jeffrey Montgomery, and Esther Perel at a fun-filled awards ceremony hosted by Maria Falzone.
"Liberty, Libations, and Libido," a party and annual fundraiser, follows the Vicki Award Ceremony. Hosted by Nina Hartley, Diana Adams, and Gabrielle Penabaz, this sexy, exciting event features the fabulous DJ Friar Tuck. An exciting silent auction will unfold while attendees enjoy a night of dancing, conversation and fun surprises throughout the evening. They can even take a turn in the "Private Moment Booth" with Nina Hartley or Buck Angel.
Then on Sunday we have our Authors' Roundtable on the state of sexual freedom today. Our four acclaimed writers, Eric Berkowitz, Roger Lancaster, and two Vicki Award winners, Amber Hollibaugh and Esther Perel, will join noted First Amendment attorney Lawrence G. Walters to discuss where we are today and then share their vision of tomorrow's world—one where sexual freedom is recognized and affirmed as a fundamental human right.
