MONTREAL—Disruptive Films announced that Micah Martinez has written and directed an upcoming release for the imprint called "Case of the Ex."
The scene follows the journey of two men who had a messy breakup years prior. A synopsis of the scene provided by Disruptive Films explains that they unexpectedly reunite while dating new people. While navigating the complexities of their past relationship, they confront the undeniable sparks that still exist between them.
According to Martinez, "I honestly cannot think of a scene I am prouder of. Disruptive Films is a site and concept I’ve loved from the beginning and being in a position to be a part of it is still wild to me even now that the scene is already done. There’s very little time I get to put so many real-life elements of my own story into a featurette like this and I could not ask for a better cast or crew to have worked with me on this one. I am incredibly thankful."
Kage stated, "It was fiery between Tony Genius and I, and this featurette set a new bar for myself and any future projects I work on. We had a great director, videographer, PA, set, script, and cast. The scene has awards written all over it for how well it was done and the passion everyone put into this."
Genius agreed, "This scene posed one of my most challenging, yet rewarding acting experiences on set. There was a lot of range to complement our amazing chemistry. Derek Kage is the perfect scene partner, and with Micah behind the camera, everything became so easy."
"Case of the Ex" will debut in November, only on Disruptive Films.
