Disruptive Films Receives Eight GayVN Nominations

MONTREALDisruptive Films has received eight GayVN Awards nominations, including Best Directing and Best Feature for its recent release For You I Will.

“These achievements are a testament to the collaborative excellence of this team. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved this year,” said screenwriter Taylor Saracen. “We’ve taken a lot of risks and enjoyed the creative process.”

The GayVN Awards will be presented on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 in Las Vegas. To see a complete list of the award nominees, visit GayVNAwards.com. For tickets, click here.

Director Big Mike echoed the sentiment, saying, “Looking back at the past year, the moments that really stick out are those bursts of spontaneous creativity and teamwork on set. It's like a whirlwind of ideas and laughter, where everyone's bouncing thoughts off each other, and before you know it, we've gone from wild concepts to something truly magical.

“It's more than just collaboration; it's like a creative party where everyone's invited. These lively exchanges didn't just fuel our projects; they brought to life the fun, dynamic spirit and innovative spark that truly embody what it means to be part of the Disruptive crew.”

Balancing dark themes with a nurturing on-set environment is key, added director Conrad Parker. “It’s unique to have the opportunity to tell intense stories with extraordinary actors. Stockholm, starring the incomparable Jayden Marcos and Adam Ramzi, was an emotional canvas meticulously colored. I’m proud that I was able to bring this exceptional story to screen.”

Executive producer, director, and brand manager, Jessica Jasmin said she was proud of Disruptive’s offerings this year. “Having the opportunity to solo direct several scenes for a brand I manage has been a dream. As much as I loved having sole control over the vision of those scenes, I had the best time working with co-directors Michael (Vegas) and Siouxsie Q on the feature For You, I Will.”

Vegas agreed, “Having the chance to tell a long-form story with our actors to bring an homage of mainstream source material to life was a new and exciting experience for all involved.”

A highlight for Vegas and Siouxsie Q was the evolution of Rod’s Room, which began as a one-off scene on Disruptive that morphed into a popular brand.
