MONTREAL—Disruptive Films has debuted the alternate, darker version of "Divergence," the two-part crossover project with fellow Alpha Studio Group banner Next Door Films directed by Michael Vegas and Siouxsie Q.
In this version, the action opens with Derek Kage as a famous podcaster named Elijah who hosts "Homoerotic Stories After Dark," featuring the sexiest stories on the web. But one day, a handsome delivery driver named Nolan (Trevor Harris) shows up and curious temptation draws Elijah into inviting him back the next day for some playtime—at Elijah’s own peril.

In the Next Door Films iteration of "Divergence," an awkward romance blossomed between Elijah and Nolan.
“Playing the same character, sultry podcaster Elijah, but in two different universes, allowed me to showcase my vocal talents as well as act in a way that isn’t normally me,” Kage said. “Elijah is shy and lacks confidence in one version and then quietly cautious in another—both of which are not my normal personality. I’m thankful Trevor Harris made it so easy to play off of him and give an equally great performance to two really unique films.”
Harris said, “I was so excited reading the second script of 'Divergence'! I’ve never played the same character with two totally different dimensions before, much less play a character that allegedly makes his costar disappear (sorry Derek)! Thanks to Siouxsie and Michael’s direction, I was confident in giving this one my all. I can’t wait for you all to finally see Elijah and Nolan’s story come to an end!”
Disruptive Films’ production manager and Gamma Films’ creative manager Jessica Jasmin added, “We already work with the fantastic team at Next Door for the casting of Disruptive, so it was a no-brainer to collaborate on something special like this one and create this multiverse between both of our brands. Derek and Trevor gave amazing performances!”
