SAN FRANCISCO—Pink and White Productions has released a collection of safer sex films produced in the 1980s and 1990s by Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) of New York, starting with the feature film Chance of a Lifetime, on its indie adult streaming platform PinkLabel.TV.
Chance of a Lifetime depicts three realistic social and sexual scenarios in which safer sex is discussed and practiced by gay men. The movie presents a variety of sexual possibilities and preferences, from intimacy between two lovers to group sex, and encourages viewers to identify and practice sexual behavior to reduce the risk of HIV transmission. The film includes special appearances by Casey Donovan and Marc Stevens.
The film was hailed by Variety which wrote, "GMHC’s controversial 1985 video is an erotic celebration of safer sex through condom use and sensual ploys like 'shrimping' (toe sucking), injecting playful tenderness back into sexual exchange."
Debuting online along with the film are additional shorts from the collection, including an explicit music video from Chance of a Lifetime, "Grey Hideaway," and one of GMHC's series seven short sex ed films, a vogue dance video promoting condom use, "Gotst0beadrag" featuring performances by Tracy Africa, Jose Extravaganza and Aldawna Field.
The collection receives a celebrated revival with films slated to be released on PinkLabel.TV throughout the year, available streaming online for the first time. It joins the platform's classic and educational archives, free with a PinkLabel PLUS membership or available to stream a la carte.
