VAN NUYS, Calif.—Vantage Distribution has added ASG Entertainment to its roster of gay adult clients after acquiring worldwide distribution rights for the award-winning studio. ASG plans to street two new movies monthly during 2009 and may increase the pace in 2010.
The partnership begins this month with the release of a revamped and expanded version of ASG’s first title, South Beach Diaries: Exposed. An earlier version was nominated for five GAYVN Awards. The new DVD incorporates brand-new scenes, an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the title, new box-cover artwork and some very intimate moments between former ASG exclusives Brad Star and Angel Skye. The Exposed edition comes in a two-disc collector’s set.
“For the first movie out the gate for ASG, that’s a big deal that the movie garnered a nod from editors at GAYVN,” said David Gross, head of sales for Vantage.
The movie’s nominations included Best Actor and Best Solo Performance (for performer Brad Star), Best HD Feature and Best Marketing.
ASG was founded in Summer 2008 and is based in New Jersey, though most of the studio’s scenes are shot in South Florida.
“There are about a dozen movies shot and edited, and ready to go out, plus the producers over at ASG are filming new content every week.,” Gross said. “We’re excited they’re on board, and we can’t wait to see the response we get from buyers. The studio will continue to produce cutting-edge and HD gay content, with stellar stars and intense, hardcore action. Fans definitely won’t be disappointed.”
