Unzipped Media Offers Cover to Portland’s Most Infamous Mayoral Intern

LOS ANGELES - Unzipped Media, publisher of the erotic men's magazines Men, Freshmen and Unzipped, has extended an official invitation to Beau Breedlove, former intern for compromised Portland, Ore., Mayor Sam Adams, to appear in a cover story and a nude photo layout in the pages of one of the Unzipped Media properties.

"We would like to offer Mr. Breedlove this opportunity to share his side of the story," said Unzipped Media Editorial Director David Kalmansohn. "In sharp contrast to the mayor, our site's visitors are being extremely vocal about their desire to both see and hear from Mr. Breedlove, the nation's newest notorious intern."

Breedlove, 21, became an overnight sensation after a Jan. 20 report in Willamette Weekly revealed that Adams, Portland's newly elected mayor and the city's first openly gay chief official, covered up his relationship with the former administrative intern. The two first met in 2005 when Breedlove was just 17. They subsequently began a sexual relationship (reportedly after Breedlove turned 18). After denying the sexual relationship when presented with evidence, Adams eventually confessed the true nature of his association with Breedlove.

"I want to publicly acknowledge I made a mistake and apologize for it," Adams told Willamette Weekly. "In the past, I've characterized my relationship with Beau Breedlove as purely nonsexual, and that is not true."

Unzipped.net, Unzipped Media's "sexy news" blog, was the first to publish photos of the partially clothed youth. Viewer reaction was immediately and overwhelmingly positive, Kalmansohn said.
