CHICAGO—Eighteen of the 50 gay adult titles produced by Raging Stallion Studios during 2009 appear on ManNet’s 13th annual “Best 100 Videos of the Year” list, posted Jan. 1.
“ManNet.com has always been one of my favorite sites,” said RSS honcho Chris Ward, who co-founded the studio with JD Slater in 1999 and has found his movies on the list every year since. “[Editor] Butch Harris is a man of integrity and a real supporter of our industry. I always enjoy his thorough reviews, even if sometimes I strongly disagree with him.
“We are thrilled to be the number one pick on his list, [with] 18 titles in the top 100. What really excites me about this is that it shows the depth of our quality here at Raging Stallion Studios.”
Raging Stallion released nearly one movie per week during the past year, some of which were collections and compilations.
“We have a very strong schedule for 2010, with about 60 planned releases, of which 30 will be brand new productions,” Ward said.
Over the next 12 months, RSS plans to release 18 scripted titles as two-disc sets, four two-disc sets in the Monster Bang gonzo line, nine fetish film, 15 collections or compilations, six twink videos, three High Octane movies and three films from new studio Hard Friction.
Ward said he expects a highlight of the 2010 season to be the release of Tales of the Arabian Nights, a four-disc opus with a Middle Eastern theme. The DVD will hit the streets in March or June, he said. The title represents Ward’s return to the subject matter he first visited with Arabesque (2006), which remains one of the studio’s top sellers, he noted.
“The dozen sex scenes that make up this project were filmed in late 2009 and are now in edit,” he revealed.
