NEW YORK—Gay fashion and lifestyle magazine Out has created Team OUT Today, a new online video channel that goes behind the scenes at the publication. Team OUT Today follows staffers including Editor in Chief Aaron Hicklin, Fashion Director Grant Woolhead, Junior Fashion Editor Brent Coover, Associate Editor Noah Michelson and Assistant Photo Editor Jason Rodgers as they maneuver the hallowed halls of publishing to design the magazine’s June/July issue.
The channel debuted online Monday and will continue for six weeks with daily vlogs from the team members, weekly webisodes, polls, editorial and daily giveaways.
“Team OUT Today is the newest series in our slate of original online content,” said Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing Josh Rosenzweig. “Combining original videos, blogs, interactive chats, photo galleries, giveaways and more, this is by far our most ambitious program to date. It is setting the bar at an all-time high for the standard of all-original web series to come.
“Team OUT Today” provides a firsthand account of what goes into producing a prominent fashion brand,” he added. “From previewing new fashion collections and interviewing hot artists and celebrities to executing exclusive photo shoots for the pages of Out, Team OUT Today will document it all. Out team members utilize their mobile devices to publicly share their hectic daily schedules by providing real-time text, Twitter, and photo and video updates.”
In addition to the videos, the site features an interactive component. The channel provides detailed team-member profiles and will conduct polls and offer questionnaires that will be used to influence Out editorial decisions. Visitors also will have direct access to the team during regularly scheduled live chat sessions.
The channel resides at TeamOUTToday.com.
