SAN FRANCISCO - Gay adult video-on-demand website NakedSword has launched a new embeddable video player that serves not only as a content link for consumers, but also as a marketing tool for affiliates.
According to a company spokesman, the player will allow affiliates to syndicate NakedSword's original behind-the-scenes content, thereby attracting new eyes and making more sales. In addition, the viewer makes it easy for consumers to share favorite clips, and when they do, the affiliate's tracking code travels along.
Clicking the viewer brings up a library of existing clips at NakedSword.
The player bowed Monday as a vehicle for "The Tim & Roma Show," NakedSword's long-running, Web-based gay porn talk show. The latest episode features the men of OnTheHunt.com during their escapades at a swank Las Vegas "sex palace." Sister Roma of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and NakedSword president Tim Valenti were invited to document behind-the-scenes activities during the 24-person, 20-scene porn shoot. While Tim handled the business end of filming, Roma hunkered down with the porn stars who directed the scenes: Jeremy Hall, Trevor Knight, Arpad Miklos and Caesar.
"When Manhunt contacted us about coming to the set, we couldn't have been more thrilled," said Tim & Roma Show producer Michael Stabile. "In the past we've worked mainly with studios like Titan, Hot House, Raging Stallion and Falcon. This was a chance to go out of our comfort zone and reach a new audience."
Added NakedSword product manager Jack Shamama, "This is our first beta test of a new affiliate project, so we're hoping to get feedback from affiliates. "Our goal this year is to maximize the great, innovative content we create every day for the benefit of NakedSword affiliates."
The embeddable player with the new episode is available on the main NakedSword site at tinyurl.com/timandroma. The beta-test affiliate-tool page has instructions for embedding the correct affiliate code in the video player.
