PARIS—Gay porn impresario Michael Lucas is the subject of a feature in the September issue of Têtu magazine. Considered by French speakers to be one of the most prestigious gay and lesbian publications, Têtu focuses on fashion, LGBT rights and other issues of importance to the community.
The article, entitled “Michael Lucas: The Porn Czar,” discusses Lucas’ history and probes his thoughts about a variety of topics, including the summer release of his studio’s shot-on-location title Men of Israel. Lucas waxes eloquent about Lucas Entertainment’s new European production strategy and internet piracy.
“Born in Moscow, American Michael Lucas reigns over gay porn,” the article begins. “For thirteen years he’s been on top of the game, producing two movies every month. Lucas runs his own studio and stars in and directs his films...films that pack quite a punch. Tetu met with him in the French capital, on the set of his latest production, Paris Playboys.
“Just by watching Michael Lucas stroll down the streets of Paris, one can see he’s a force to be reckoned with,” the writer continued. “The Russian-American citizen could be the son of Rudolph Nureyev and the fictional philanderer Christian Troy. Tall and fit with a piercing gaze, he has a proud demeanor and elegant energy. It’s difficult to be indifferent toward him, and impossible not to notice him. A believer of the old adage of ‘ask me about me...,’ he knows the press well and he pulls the strings. Lucas is probably the most sociable producer and has plenty of jokes, anecdotes and backstage secrets. He speaks of his private life with the breezy openness typical of many Americans, and finishes the interview with an invitation to his Fire Island home. Michael Lucas, 37, is an incarnation of the American Dream made possible by porn. Mission accomplished.”
After reading the article, Lucas commented, “I am very proud to be profiled in such a benchmark of European press as Têtu. I love France, and if France loves me, well then I love France even more.”
According to Têtu Editor-in-Chief Gilles Wullus, “As the premier gay magazine in France and French-speaking countries, we at Têtu are so pleased to have Michael in our September issue, especially since he seems so enthusiastic about making movies in this country. The films of Mr. Lucas are appreciated for their high quality, and it will be fun to hear some of the hottest guys speaking—and moaning?—in French.”
The September issue of Têtu is on newsstands in France and at select international stores.
