TORONTO—Gay video-on-demand provider Maleflixxx has landed online distribution rights for French adult studio Cadinot. The agreement marks the first time Cadinot’s content has been made available on a network outside France.
Effective immediately, a new title from Cadinot’s library of 70 films dating back to the 1970s will appear on the Maleflixxx network of websites every Friday. Cours Prives, which began running Dec. 11, claimed the top spot on the network’s “Most Watched” list after only a few days, a Maleflixxx spokesman said.
“We couldn't be happier that Cadinot chose Maleflixxx to work with as the first-ever third-party VOD provider,” said Eric Johnson, president of Sureflix Digital Distribution, parent company of Maleflixxx and a subsidiary of Barcelona-based Private Media Group. “As these titles are released across the network, they will not only provide Cadinot and Maleflixxx with a steady revenue stream, but will also allow our affiliates the chance to promote original content that is extremely hard to come by.”
According to Cadinot Managing Director François Orenn, “The Cadinot films paved the way for other gay production companies. Because of this history, we only wanted to provide the VOD rights to a company that truly understands how to market and sell gay content.”
