NEW YORK - Lucas Entertainment has revamped its affiliate program, adding 30 percent to sales commissions, increasing the length of time new users are tracked, plugging traffic leaks on tour and join pages and stocking up on new promotional tools.
Prior to the remodeling, "our payouts were standard for studios at 20 percent; however, we realized in order to compete in this market we would need to raise the incentive for affiliates," affiliate manager Holly Ruprecht told GAYVN.com. "We now pay 50 percent on all sales."
User-tracking, previously set at three days, has been extended to 45 days. That means affiliates who refer users to any Lucas Entertainment pay site will reap commissions from those consumers who join within 45 days of their first visit.
According to Ruprecht, common traffic leaks on tour and join pages include links to video-on-demand theaters and e-commerce sites. Typically, purchases made by consumers who abandon tours and join pages through those links are not credited to the referring webmaster. Lucas Entertainment's tour and join pages no longer have external links, so traffic isn't lost, she told GAYVN.com.
In the realm of promotional tools, Lucas has added "tube-site" clips, galleries of both models and movies, new banners and model bios. More tools are forthcoming, Ruprecht said.
"Lucas Entertainment has been an industry leader in the movies it produces, and is an award-winning studio," Ruprecht told GAYVN.com. "In fact, [Lucas Entertainment president and chief executive officer] Michael Lucas will be inducted into the GAYVN Hall of Fame during the GAYVN Awards show at the end of this month. We wanted to take our great content online in a way that made sense to the affiliate. We knew they would love the content, and we were lucky enough to have the best to build a program around."
According Lucas Entertainment chief creative officer Edmond Davenport, the changes have been in the works for some time.
"We're really excited to be working so closely with Holly on the reinvention of our affiliate network," he told GAYVN.com. "We always had the right stuff and the award-winning titles, but a whole new world of affiliates has opened up and we're doing everything we can to make sure that we all get the best. Learning more about what affiliates want and then catering to them is certainly a high priority, and nothing's going to stop us from dominating the market."
Michael Lucas added, "The re-launch of our affiliate program, combined with the stunning content of the Lucas Entertainment brand, is a great way for webmasters to generate revenue," he told GAYVN.com. "I look forward to the expansion of our Web presence and will continue to make amazing movies for our affiliates to promote."
